
Knit Pineapple

Materials
Peaches & Crème Article 930
Yellow .5oz
Green, Black small amounts
Optional: 10mm Black Doll Eyes
Needle: US #5/3.75mm 4 DPN or Circular Needle
Small amount of Polyester Fiber Fill
Finished Size- 5” tall
Gauge: not crucial for this item
Note: When using 10mm Black dolls eyes- place eyes securely into a cluster of stitches to prevent the eyes from falling off.
Stitches:
PFB- Purl in Front and Back loops
K3tog- Knit 3 together
P2tog- Purl 2 together
Bottom:
With Yellow CO 6, working in rnds
Rnd 1: with 3rd DPN, PFB in each st around (12 sts)
Rnd 2: (P1, PFB in next st) repeat around (18 sts)
Rnd 3: (P2, PFB in next st) repeat around (24 sts)
Rnd 4: (P3, PFB in next st) repeat around (30 sts)
Rnd 5: (P4, PFB in next st) repeat around (36 sts)
Rnd 6: (P5, PFB in next st) repeat around (42 sts)
Rnd 7: (P6, PFB in next st) repeat around (48 sts)
Rnd 8: P around (48 sts)
Note: The purl side is the wrong side.
Side:
Rnd 9: *K3tog, (k,p,k) in next st*, repeat around
Rnd 10: K around
Rnd 11: *(k,p,k) in next st, K3tog* repeat around
Rnd 12: K around
Repeat rnds 9-12 until the sides measure 3”, fasten off yellow
Top
Rnd 13: join green, (P, P2tog) around (32 sts)
Rnd 14: P around
Rnd 15: (P, P2tog) around (22 sts)
Rnd 16: P around
Rnd 17: *(P, P2tog) 3 times, P2 * repeat once more (16 sts)
Make sure the knit bottom is facing out, if you are using 10 mm eyes place them where you want them and fasten them on, stuff pineapple.
Rnd 18: P around
Rnd 19: P2tog around (8 sts)
Rnds 20-23: P around
Leaves
Now working in rows
Row 24: (cast on 10 sts, bind off 11 sts, place stitch from right needle on the left needle) continue for a total of 8 times (8 leaves), fasten off leave a long tail for sewing closed
With green tail go through your leaf stitches at the bottom, and gather tightly, fasten off.
If you are putting a face on your pineapple use some scrap black yarn and stitch on a smile, and any other features you wish to have on your pineapple, you may also sew on eyes with scrap black yarn.
